Extra Shots » The Train
All the portions shown on the train, including the one towards the end of the film, were shot in one day, that too, in just 3 hours! They got permission to shoot in the Sky Train in Bangkok between 7 and 10 a.m only, that too without lights. Since they were short of time, Emraan would change in the train itself, and when Geeta went for a change, they shot Emraan’s solo portions. The distance between the first and last stop was so short, that they had to change trains many times.
Sayali Bhagat, who plays Emraan’s wife in this film, was a runner up in the Miss India 2004 pageant, and represented India at the Miss Earth pageant. THE TRAIN (’07) is her debut film. When she was approached for this film, she wasn’t too sure about doing it, and couldn’t make it for the audition since she was catching a flight to Hyderabad. Her flight got cancelled, and she called director Hasnain and went for the audition. As destiny would have it, she was selected.
- This film is adapted from the English film, DERAILED (‘05), starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen. Most scenes are exactly the way it is in the English film. This was first made as a Tamil film directed by Gautham Menon – PACHAIKILI MUTHUCHARAM, starring Sarath Kumar, Jyothika, and Milind Soman in a negative role. This released in February 2007, while THE TRAIN released a few months later – in June 2007.
